My name is Hilary Charman and I live in Poundbury, Dorchester, Dorset. I have four children, three grown up and an 10 year old.
I began my Hypnotherapy training with Andrew Parr, one of the top Hypnotherapists in the country, in 2016. It completely transformed my life. By making my own self hypnosis recordings and listening to them daily I managed to come off medication I’d been on for years, lose four and a half stone and free myself from long term addiction.
The changes in my psyche happened very quickly but my physical recovery took a lot longer. I had to take a year off my Hypnotherapy course because of ‘brain fog,’ but throughout that time I continued to make recordings for myself and friends. I got back to my studies in January 2018 and became qualified later that year.
During that time I gained confidence and began to feel able to do things I would never have thought possible before. And even more importantly it gave me the tools to help other people who might be ‘stuck’ in a situation or behaviour and not know how to move on.
Because of my life experiences I have a deep understanding of many of the issues that my clients come to me with. I have dealt with my own self-limiting beliefs and past traumas with the help of other Professional Hypnotherapists and I am careful not to bring any of my ‘stuff’ into the session.
I am trained in the Deep Transformation Method, which is a unique blend of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, coaching and counselling.
I hold a Diploma in Professional Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis and I am a licensed practitioner and a member of the professional body APA (Andrew Parr Association). I also hold a Diploma in Addiction Therapy and have received training in C-PTSD. I am an Accredited Member of the ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists). As an Accredited Member I have signed up to their Standards and Quality Charter and I agree to adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics.
I am also a volunteer with EDP/REACH Drug and alcohol services where I do Hypnotherapy sessions with their clients.
